Hey, Paul.

Are you looking at trickle charging or wanting to actually fully charge your golf cart? I saw that you were looking at the OptiMate Portable Solar Panel with Controller - 80 Watt Solar Panel kit part # MA66JR, a kit like this would be able to maintain an already charged battery.

An example situation, if you used the OptiMate to charge from 50% in full sun it would take about 2 weeks to charge up to 100%.

A stronger kit would be the Rich Solar Mega 200 Portable Solar Panel with Case part # RS85FR. In the same conditions it would take 3-5 days to go from a 50% charge to 100%. This kit would be more realistic especially if you are looking at getting an actual charge in only a few days.

If you are looking for getting an actual proper charge with a solar set up you would want to be look at more of a permanent kit.

Let me know if you have any more solar questions.

Hey Paul, how did things go with the solar panel setup for your 48-volt golf cart? Did the Rich Solar 200-watt kit give you the charging results you were hoping for? Your update could make it easier for others choosing between portable options.
