Question:

Are these pre-greased or do I have to add grease? This will go on a boat trailer and I want to use marine-grade grease, so it would be better if they have not been pre-greased. Also, I will add Bearing Buddies. Confirm that BB84SR is the right part in combination with this axle.

Hey Pehr, the hubs that come with the Dexter axle # 20545I-ST-60-15 that you referenced are not pre-greased. And yes, the Bearing Buddy part # BB84SR is correct too for the included hub since the cap that comes with it is 1.98 inches in diameter. Will this be a single or tandem axle setup?

Single axle. This is for a small 4 x 8 utility trailer that I sometimes use to transport a small sailboat on. Is this axle and bearing buddy combination the recommended set up?

@PehrJ As long as the dimensions of the axle match what your trailer needs for an axle this would be a really great option. This axle has it's spring seat centers 48 inches apart on center and from hub face to hub face it measures 60 inches. Do you have those specs from your old axle?

SSC is 47.25". I suppose I have to get an axle from the original manufacturer. Right?

@Pehr I wish we could help but that's not a spec we have on an axle. The manufacturer would be one place to check with or a local trailer shop who can order in axles.
