Can I Replace Two 73 Amp Hour Batteries w/the Bright Way Deep Cycle 110 Amp Hour Battery?

Published 11/25/2025

Question:

We have a Jayco 5th wheel RV with 2 12v regular batteries. Continental Part TM24 CCA 550 RC 140, when I look up on Continentals site it says it is a 73 amp hour battery. Need to know if I can replace my 2 batteries with 1 of the BRW44FR AGM battery. I have room for it to fit. When I check both batteries I have one at 89 521CCA and the other one is 40 348 CCA. Thanks for your help.

Hey Keith, thanks for the information. You can use the Bright Way Deep Cycle RV or Marine Battery item # BRW44FR to replace your two Continental batteries. The only issue you're going to run into is you'll be dropping your amp hours down from 146 to 110. This means the item # BRW44FR battery isn't going to last as long before it needs to be recharged.

Do you have your batteries wired in series or parallel and do you do a bunch of off-grid camping where you rely on your batteries?

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

They are connected in parallel and we do very little to none off grid camping. I believe we will be fine with this battery at 110 ah. Thanks
