Question:

Hello etrailer team, I have a question about the Morryde Goose-Tech system: Is the coupling also approved for a Keystone Cougar 316 RLS built in 2024? Permissible load on the frame due to the other lever travel. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information about this on the website. Thank you very much for your help. Best regards, Thorsten

Hi Thorsten; at this time Lippert has not approved the MORryde GooseTech # MR74MV for their frames. If your 2024 Keystone Cougar 316RLS is outside of the warranty period for the frame it is a non-issue. Even if it is not, pin boxes like these never really have issues where voiding the warranty would be a concern. Ultimately it is up to you if you want to add it or not.

Do you have a Lippert Rhino right now? If your main concern is the warranty I would get the Reese Goose Box # RP85FR or Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY33GR instead. Both fit the Rhino bolt pattern and are rated for the GVWR of your trailer.

Hi Thorsten, did you decide to go with the Reese Goose Box or the Gen-Y pin box for your Cougar? Knowing which route you took could help others trying to balance warranty concerns with performance. Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.
