Are Air Lift Air Bags Compatible w/a Gooseneck Hitch on a 1997 Chevrolet C2500?

Question:

Hello - I am looking for an air bag suspension kit for my 1997 Chevrolet C2500 2wd. This truck had a gooseneck ball mounted in the bed. I noticed all options said they wouldn’t work with an in bed hitch except AL57216. Can yall confirm this will work with my model truck with an in bed gooseneck hitch? Thank you

Hey Lucas, thanks for the information. You can make the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs item # AL57216 fit your 1997 Chevrolet C2500 with that gooseneck hitch installed. This kit installs on the inside of the frame but there's one single bolt that's going to require some modification.

You'll need to notch out a hole for the mounting bolt and then place the gooseneck frame brackets over the Air Lift ones. This is the only option if you want to install a set of air bags on your truck. I've attached a picture below that will show you what the item # AL57216 is going to look like when installed with a gooseneck hitch.

I also recommend adding the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs item # AL25592 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your cab. You'll also be able to see the air pressure on the provided gauge.

Are you comfortable modifying your gooseneck brackets? If not we have other none air bag options to help your rear suspension.

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey Lucas, how did things go fitting the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 on your C2500 with the gooseneck hitch? Were you able to make the small modification for that mounting bolt without any issues? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same setup.
