Will Reese Goose Box Have Short Bed Turning Clearance 2011 F-350

Updated 11/11/2025 | Published 11/06/2025

Question:

I have a 2011 F-250 short bed 6.75-inch bed and 2020 wildcat 290 RL camper. Im wanting to put the BandW turn over hitch and match it with the 16000 lbs. Reese goose box and the BandW 4 inch off set ball do you know what degree angle will be max for my turning radius so that my camper would not hit my truck cab?

Hey Richard, since the 2020 Wildcat 290 RL has a tapered nose you can use a Reese Goose Box like the part # RP85FR with a B and W Turnoverball hitch # BWGNRK1111 that fits your 2011 Ford F-250 with the offset ball part # BWGNXA4085 and you'd have really good turning clearance.

It's hard to say exactly how sharp of a turn you'd be able to make but I would easily assume pretty close to the full 90. How often do you need to be able to get to 90 degrees?

I noticed you said to use the 20,000 lbs Reese goose box. The camper I have is under 12,000 lbs can I use the 16,000 lbs Reese goose box or is there a reason you suggested the larger capacity one?

@RichardS Yeah you can use the part # RP94716-61301 that you referenced as well. You just wouldn't need to use the included spacers. It's about the same price as the higher capacity version and since there isn't really a downside to having too much capacity I figured that would be what you'd want but either part number would work just as fine for you.
