Can A Rhino Rack Roof Rack From A Previous Vehicle Fit A New Car?

Updated 10/21/2025 | Published 10/16/2025

Question:

Hi, I own a Rhino rack roof rack for a 2012 Nissan Altima. Recently sold that car and now own a 2015 Honda Accord with naked roof and sunroof. Can I still use this set up or do I have to buy a new set of brackets for the cross bars?

Hi Tom!

The roof rack set up from your 2012 Altima might fit your new 2015 Honda Accord, but it is going to depend on the length of your crossbars. The towers will be exactly the same, so that's not an issue and you will be able to use the fit kit I have listed below:

Custom DK Fit Kit for 4 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs - Naked Roof # DK359

Do you know how long the bars are you currently have? The ones we show for the Accord are 54 inches long and the ones we show for the Altima are either 46 inches or 50 inches long. This should still work, but place the towers where they need to be on your Accord with the bars attached and see how they fit. That will confirm it. If they are long enough, all you will need is the fit kit I have above. If they are too short, I would grab the kit I have listed below and sell the old set up. There are plenty of Altimas out there that need roof racks. : )
