2020 Forest River Georgetown 29S On Ford F53 Chassis Steering Stabilizer To Keep Straight

Published 10/07/2025

Question:

I’ve got a 2020 Forest River Georgetown 29S built on the 16,000-lb Ford F-53 chassis. I see the white Safe-T-Plus ST88MR listed for 18K–22K F-53 coaches. will it still work on mine, or do I need a lighter version?

Dan, you’re right to double-check that. Even though the catalog notes 18K–22K GVWR, the white Safe-T-Plus # ST88MR is actually tuned for the full 16,000- to 22,000-lb Ford F-53 chassis range. It uses the same calibrated spring and piston design that keeps steering centered on everything from shorter 29-foot coaches like yours up through the heavier 35-foot models.

There’s no need to step down to a softer version - the # ST88MR is the correct stabilizer for your Georgetown 29S.

Have you noticed it's fairly fatiguing to keep this thing going straight on long trips?
