Does the Thermostat in the Advent Air Distribution Box Turn On an Off When It Reaches a Temperature?
Updated 10/08/2025 | Published 10/07/2025 >
Question:
When you say, built in thermostatinch I assume its not an actual thermostat that turns off and on by reading the inside temperature? Basically its manually turned off or on, correct?

No, the Air Distribution Box w/ Built-In Thermostat item # ADV48SR turns on and off when it reaches a certain temperature inside the trailer. This one is exclusively for Advent ductless systems with R32 refrigerant.
What AC Unit are you looking to install the item # ADV48SR on? This system has the new R32 refrigerant in it and is not compatible with any AC built before 2025 that doesn't have the new R32 refrigerant, including Advent ones.

Ok, Jerred, here's my situation: I bought a Dometic Brisk 2 from Camping World 3 months ago for my little 20ft travel trailer. It cost a lot. Now it no longer produces cold air and CW refuses to honor the warranty. Therefore I'm strapped for money to replace it but found an Advent 15,000btu with etrailer that is reasonable but, I've the old Dometic ceiling distributor that looks just like this Advent one we're discussing. I believe mine will work but it does not have an actual thermostat. However, if the Advent one does and can be set at a temperature that will automatically turn the a/c on and off, I'd be willing to purchase it? Darrin
