How Much Does The Ball Extend Above The Bed When Fully Installed?
Updated 10/07/2025 | Published 10/06/2025 >
Question:
I would like to know how high this ball extends above the mount surface it is bolted to. It shows the shank length and diameter which is very helpful as well, but we have an existing flatbed body with a ball mount built into it already and I need to know if this ball will fit down inside the recess for the ball. Thanks Phil Petit

Hey Phil,
I went ahead and ran down to our warehouse to grab one of these. When fully installed the actual ball portion of this hitch ball, # BWHB94008, is 4-1/4" tall. I took that from the base of the ball where the shank connects to the top of the ball. I attached a little diagram to show you.
What kind of vehicle are you wanting to put this on?

Thank you for the information on this. I appreciate it. Unfortunately, it is probably not going work for our application. But it helps to know this up front Phil
