Does the scale still work if I’m towing on the pintle instead of the hitch ball?

Yes, Kyle - the built-in scale on the Weigh Safe Pintle Hitch for 3" receivers # WS64WR works in both the pintle and ball configurations. It reads tongue weight as soon as the trailer is set on the hitch, accurate up to within 1.5% of actual tongue weight. That makes it easy to stay in the safe 10–15 % tongue weight range.
Do you usually haul close to max capacity, or do your loads vary a lot?
