Does The Xtreme Heater For RV Basements And Boat Bilges Need to Be Mounted In Compartment?

Question:
Does the XH77FR need to be mounted, or can I just move it between compartments in the winter?

Lila, you’ve got both options. The heater 600w # XH77FR includes a quick-release bracket, so you can mount it securely and still pop it out tool-free whenever you want. Some folks do move one unit around, but for unattended storage I’d recommend mounting it in the most critical bay so it can’t shift or tip.
Which compartment are you most worried about - your pump, your tanks, or your batteries?

I’ve been using the 600W in my fifth wheel for two seasons now, and I’d definitely recommend mounting it. I tried moving it between the tank bay and the battery compartment at first, but it’s a pain. The quick-release bracket makes it easy to pop out in spring anyway so I'd just fix it like that.
