Hey Tom!

The Red Trimax King Pin Lock # TMX36RR and the Yellow Lock # TMX56RR are literally the same lock, just with different colors. I'm not sure why there's a price difference like that, but usually I tell people to take advantage of the lower price while you can.

What drew you to this king pin lock?

I have a lock now that works great but I get grease on my hands. Then that gets all over everything. The king lock won’t grease on the hands. I read some reviews that it didn’t fit their king pin and the lock mechanism feel apart.

@TomM I completely understand. Is it a lock like the etrailer 5th Wheel King Pin Lock # e98896 that kind of keeps everything exposed? The Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Lock # UF48-979008 might be more up your alley since it's like a sleeve over the king pin.

@Troy You're completely right, the part #TMX36RR is a hardened steel lock and the part # TMX56RR is a hardened alloy lock. That most definitely explains the price difference. Thanks for catching that for us!
