Will Folded Up Kuat Transfer V2 Be Hard to See in Back Windshield
Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 08/21/2025 >
Question:
Hi -- I'm interested in the Kuat Transfer v2 for 3 bikes but am concerned about visibility out the back due to height of folded up rack when not in use. Would getting the 2-bike version with one add-on rack be a good solution for that? With the idea that I would only put on the add-on when ready to transport (usually on the weekends). Or is that already what the 3-bike version is? If so, how hard/easy is it to attach and remove the add-on?

Hey David, the 3 bike version of the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU24FR is just a 2 bike Transfer with the third bike option like you asked about. Even with the third bike portion installed I think you'll still have very solid vision out of the back window as this is a pretty minimalistic bike rack. With that said removing the third bike portion of the rack is a great option overall.
To see the process for installing and removing the add ons check out the video I attached down below. It does take some tools but it's not super complicated.
