Can I tie into an existing diesel tank, or do I need a separate one for AutoTerm Air 2D RV Heater?

Question:
Hi I am planning to install the Air 2D in our sprinter diesel. Can I pull fuel from the main tank?

Alan, yes you can use main fuel tank for the Autoterm 2d 12v Heater For RVs # AU56MR. Most newer vans like Sprinters and Promasters have an auxiliary fuel port on the factory diesel tank just for this purpose. Sometimes the aux port goes to a heater and you can still tap into that sometimes. That’s actually the cleanest install.
If your van doesn’t have one, you can use the included suction tube in an auxiliary tank instead. Just avoid tapping into the engine’s main fuel line or return line. Also make sure you only use the included fuel pump since it needs to be a specific psi for the heater to work and be under warranty.
What do you normally do for heat while the Sprinter is turned off for camping?
