Recommended Bull Bar for a 2024 Nissan Frontier

Updated 07/17/2025 | Published 07/14/2025

Question:

Hello , Thanks in advance for having a question feedback. Ok I’ll get into it : Bull bar and brackets at for my 1998 dodge Dakota pickup 4 cylinder. Never mounted or used for some reasons . Son bought it . Since that truck is still around but not running we both son and I won’t to mount it on the Nissan frontier 2024 . I see the brackets that are made for the Nissan frontier but over all question is will the bull bar be ok with swapping from dodge brackets to Nissan brackets.

Hey Robert, thanks for the picture. I am sorry but your Westin Bullbar that fits a 1998 Dodge Dakota is not going to work on your 2024 Nissan Frontier even with new mounting hardware. The mounting tabs that insert into the grille are completely different.

To add a bull bar to your 2024 Nissan Frontier, you'll need the Westin E-Series Bull Bar with Skid Plate item # W97WX. This bull bar is custom fit for your Nissan's front end and will bolt to it without drilling with included hardware.

Where did your son find an un-opened bull bar for a 1998 Dakota?

I believe he purchased it online maybe thru Amazon but don’t hold me to that . It’s been a few years since he purchased it but before we could mount it he moved and then shortly the motor failed so we never mounted . We may restore the dodge and mount it there if we decide to restore it . He insisted that I try to mount it to the Nissan instead of the dodge .

@Robert That makes sense. I couldn't even find it on Westin's website so I was curious where he got it from. Let me know if you have any additional questions do the road.

I do have another question in regards of the Nissan frontier 2024 . While I’m cool with normal Bull guards , the normal ones are not for mounting a winch to it for pulling yourself out when stuck right ? Since I hunt mostly alone and have had a few times of getting stuck in middle of nowhere ( even tho a town is nearby) and it is likely I may be seen by another hunter but rare for most hunters to stay out till dark . Most leave before dark and I come out well after . I looking for maybe a swap out option to put a winch on the front but can use it in back as well . What are your thoughts on that setup ? Or should I just have one mounted to the front at all times ?

@Robert I wouldn't mess with trying to maneuver a winch between the front and rear of your Nissan. Especially not in the dark and in an emergencyish situation. I would just have a front mounted one. The Westin HDX Winch Mount Modular Grille Guard with Punch Plate item # W85EC is going to be our only option to attach a winch to. This is custom fit for your 2024 Frontier. I have one of these installed on my Silverado and they are really strong. Especially, considering how light they are. I have linked the installation instructions below so you can see what this grille guard looks like installed. Do you already have a winch?
