Hey Greg, thanks for reaching out!

To replace the toilet seat on your Thetford toilet you'll need the Replacement Seat and Cover for Thetford Aqua-Magic Style II RV Toilet # TH34FR43XB.

According to my contact at Thetford this is the correct seat, and they don't have any with the soft close feature, so you'll have to try to test and find an alternative if you'd like to add that.

Have you seen any that had a soft close feature?

Thanks Jon , I may have to look at a seat that is used in the home as they do have a soft close and are about half the cost. Thanks for responding ??

@Greg You can try doing this, but the Thetford seats are unique so I'd be surprised if you're able to get a residential toilet seat to fit properly.

Jon I have located a replacement for the Thetford AQUA magic toilet seat and cover, but it’s model number 34145. Is this the same as TH34FR34FR43XB?

@Greg The toilet seat I mentioned above is the part 42178. Did you tell Thetford the model number 42070 for the toilet that you initially mentioned? That's the part I gave them, and they used it to get me the replacement seat we added for you.
