Have a 2024 gmc 2500 with factory installed 5th wheel system and 63/4 bed would sliding 5th wheel hitch be the way to go pulling mid weight camper and what brand do you recommend?

Hello David, thanks for reaching out. We do recommend using a slider for the 6-3/4' bed, and we do have options that will fit the puck system in your 2024 GMC 2500. What I recommend is the following:
- B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775
This will be the best option as far as durability and ease of use. The B&W has been my go-to 5th wheel hitch for a few years now. They just always work great. The jaw and slider mechanisms are smooth and easy to use. You get a 360 degree jaw and rotating head which help with ride comfort. All made here is the USA too.
There is really only one drawback of the B&W companion hitch, and that is the weight. The entire hitch is about 250 lbs so it can take some work to get it in and out of the bed. You can easily remove the head unit from the base and the head is about 70 lbs so this helps make it a bit more manageable, but it is still a beast of a hitch.
How often will you be towing? Are you full time, or do you do more local trips here and there?
