Hey Matt. The maximum grade that the Trailer Valet RVR9 Remote-Controlled Trailer Dolly item # TVRVR9 will work is 5 degrees. This model uses a wide caterpillar tread which gives it great traction on any surface including gravel, dirt, grass, or even sand. The performance does depend more on the grade rather than the surface itself. For loose gravel or sand, this will definitely be your best bet.
