Can I Put Larger Wheels And Tires On My Camper After Adding A Lift To It?

Updated 06/23/2025 | Published 06/18/2025

Question:

I need a measurement on your product KE94WV. I need to know the measurement of the mating surface of the wheel to the widest part of the tire, Im trying to see if a larger wheel and tire will fit on my camper after I lifted it. Not sure if Ill have clearance from the wheel well to the side of the tire.

Hello Chad, thanks for reaching out. The Kenda Karrier KR53 ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # KE94WV is 7.8" wide overall. The wheel mounting surface is centered on the tire, so the measurement you are looking for is about 3.75" when you factor in the thickness of the wheel itself.

Ideally, you will want to have at least 3" between the tire and the fender, and at least 1" between the inside of the tire and the frame of the trailer. The # KE94WV tire is 26.9" in diameter. If you can compare the width and diameter to your current tires you should be able to tell if the larger tires will fit or not.

What kind of camper do you have? Just curious.

@ChadF Ok cool! If you can check your clearance before you take the old tires off that will be your best bet. Stick to the 3"/1" rule I mentioned above and you will be good to go. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
