Can Yakima ShowDown Kayak Carrier Fit 2025 Subaru Ascent

Question:
I am looking to purchase a Yakama Show Down unit for my 2022 Outback. The car has the integrated roof rack system. So, I need help figuring out what I need to buy. What size cross bars are needed? How to attach the cross bars to the 4 points of the integrated roof rack system? The system my get moved to a 2025 Subaru Ascent in the future, so if possible, to size it so it can move it over. I believe the Ascent has traditional roof mounts. Thanks for any and all help. Richard Schneider

Hey Richard, there really isn't a way to use the ShowDown with your 2022 Subaru Outback since it has the factory crossbar setup. Those bars aren't compatible with the ShowDown and there isn't an aftermarket set of bars that can replace them.
Now on the 2025 Subaru Ascent you could go with the Yakima Jetstream roof rack part # Y57SD for a set of compatible crossbars with the Showdown # Y04081.

Thanks so much. This was very helpful. I found a previously used set of 1 inch diameter Yamaha cross bars from a previous car. To save a few dollars I might use those and buy from you the Timberline towers.
