Recommended Shocks for a 2023 Jayco Eagle HT 31MB 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 09/12/2025 | Published 05/22/2025

Question:

I have a 2023 Jayco Eagle HT 31MB fifth wheel. Supposedly, it came with prep for shock absorbers, but I don’t see an upper mount for any of the axles on either side. Do you have a shock absorber kit that you would recommend for my trailer? I’d like all four shocks and self-tapping hardware if available. I’ve heard through forums that there are fairly simple options available, but I’m new to this type of upgrade. Thank you!

Hey Vic, thanks for the information! For your 2023 Jayco Eagle HT 31MB 5th wheel trailer, I recommend the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers item # RM-2460. These shocks are going to give you a much smoother towing experience, compressing and cushioning your ride when you are travelling.

The Roadmaster item # RM-2460 is designed for 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs axles and includes everything you need to get them installed on your 5th wheel trailer. Theses shocks bolt to the frame, does require drilling, and then to the tie-plates on the leaf springs.

The Lippert Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks item # LC281281, you were looking at mounts on the outside of the frame so they are more likely to be damaged from road debris and tire blow outs. Plus there's some space restrictions you have to worry about as well and you would need to purchase two kits.

If you have any additional questions, go ahead and throw them into the comment box below and I'll be happy to answer them.

Additionally, I linked an installation video below so you can see how to get the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers item # RM-2460 set up.

Hey Vic, did you decide to go with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for your Jayco Eagle HT? I'm curious to know how they worked out for you, as it could give others confidence when upgrading their trailers.
