What Is The Function Of The Guard On The Global Link Replacement Roller for RV Slide Out 295-000179?

Question:

What is the function of the guard on this roller? It appears to be what I have installed on my 2017 jayco 321rsts. However, it looks like the roller has compressed and the slide out is resting on the guard, tearing the underside with deployment/retraction.

Hello Brandon, good question. The purpose of the guard on the Global Link Replacement Roller for RV Slide Out # 295-000179 is basically just to protect the roller. It also helps to add a bit of strength and stability to the whole assembly.

This roller is 6-3/8" long x 1-5/8" wide x 1-5/16" high so as long as this is dimensionally the same as your current roller you can be sure it will work for you.

Protect the roller from what?.

@Brandon basically to protect any components that may be located under the slide out like electrical or hoses ect. Keeps the roller protected from dirt or debris too. Not all rollers have guards so it is not a requirement.
