How To Install A Trailer Hitch On Vehicle With Broken Weld Nuts

Question:
I bought the hitch for the honda pilot and it will work great but when i went to break the bolts loose on the frame the nuts must of broke loose off the frame cause the bolts just spin and spin. My fram on my honda is rusty, do i have sny suggestions?

Hello Jeramiah, thanks for reaching out. That sucks to hear the weld nuts broke loose, but this can happen with older cars when the frame gets rusted out. It definitely makes things harder, but it is still possible to install a trailer hitch. What you'll need to do it fish wire new hardwire into the frame from a different opening and then out through the hitch's mounting hole. I've linked a video of the process. You would just need to source a few appropriately sized spacer blocks from a local hardware store.
