Looking For Crossbar System To Go On Roll N Lock XT Tonneau Cover On 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab
Updated 05/19/2025 | Published 05/15/2025 >
Question:
What is the most versatile truck cross bar system that fits the T slots on my Roll N Lock XT manual sliding tonneau cover. Truck is a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab . Would like a black finish, low profile that will allow me to mount Yakima, Thule, etc bike, kayak, cargo box and maybe more accessories ? In addition is the a simple T rail mount that will allow me multi cross bar options ? Thank you

Hello Phil, thanks for reaching out. The Roll N Lock XT cover uses a pretty standard T-track. What I recommend for a crossbar system is the following:
- Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbars for Retrax XR and Mountain Top EVO-M Tonneau Covers - Black - 71" L # RRVA180B-RRRLT600
This is a full crossbar system so you get your 71" Aero crossbars, towers and T-track installation hardware. The crossbars have a top channel so you can use virtually any channel mount accessory. Also the aero crossbars are standard, so they will work with pretty much any clamp-on accessory like a kayak carrier or cargo box. This includes accessories from Thule, Yakima, Rhino Rack and more - they all work with aero crossbars.
The video I linked below will show you an example of installation.
What kind of cargo are you looking to carry? We have solutions for pretty much everything so let me know and I am happy to make a recommendation.

Hi Jesse Thank you for this great info ! I’m sure it will help others. There is much mentioned about the Retrax system good to know it’s the same for. One more question. Can I use the 65 in bar instead of the 71. I don’t want it hanging out. Will to give up some space. I received a Rhino Rack from a friend and will work off of that. Eventually 2 stand up bike racks and some sort of storage box (es). I am hoping I can mount a ladder rack to the platform for sort trip uses if not look into that separately Thanks Jesse
