What Info Is Needed to Add Surge Disc Brakes to Trailer

Question:
Hello, I just bought a 2018 Loadrite P-18/20-2550T pontoon trailer from a private party in NJ and failed to do the research that due to no annual trailer inspections in NJ for this size of trailer, the seller never had breaks installed. As a PA resident I’ll need to get the trailer inspected annually and I believe need breaks. Can you advise on what disc break system would be sufficient for a P-18/20-2550T pontoon trailer. Trailer GVWR is 3,270 lbs and combined weight of my pontoon and trailer will likely only be around 2,500 lbs. Not sure if you would be able to provide a summary of all the parts I would need? I then plan to use one of your recommended installers. Thank you

We can definitely help but I would need you got get me the axle capacity of the trailer. Check the axles for tags that have info written on them and you'll find the axle capacity.
Or if you pull a hub you can get me the diameters of the spindle where the bearings ride as well as the bearing numbers and we'd able to let you know for sure.
In meantime I attached a FAQ article to this page that details how to add disc brakes to your trailer as well.
