Updated 09/30/2025 | Published 05/10/2025

Question:

Have stock height 2025 Bronco Badlands no Sasquatch. Looking at blue sumo springs. Can you advise if I will need a spacer for install ? Thanks in advance Chris

Hey Chris! SumoSprings typically recommends a 1/2" - 1" gap between the helper springs and the point of contact. The larger the gap the longer it takes for the springs to engage and vice versa. The 1/2" spacers that come with the # SS56EV are optional so it is really up to you. If you want them to engage sooner you can add one or two of the spacers to close up the gap.

Personally, I would see how it rides without them, ideally with and without a heavy load/trailer. You can add the spacers in later if you feel it is necessary. Leaving the gap on the high side will help reduce any impact on unloaded ride quality so that is what I recommend unless you're towing most of the time. Hey Chris, did you try out the SumoSprings without the spacers, and how did it feel with and without a load? I'm curious to know if you decided to add the spacers later, as it could help others in a similar situation.

@RobinH I did add one spacer at time of install by a local garage. That left 1 inch at rest I towed a boat @3000 lbs. the vehicle handled great with limited squat and almost zero sway. I am very pleased with this product My 25 Bronco is a badlands stock , so future questions regarding spacers may like to know plan in adding 1 at time of initial installation. Cheers Chris
