Which Transfer Switch to Use with 87 Bounder that is Installing Progressive Dynamics PD4060K

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 05/08/2025

Question:

Have a 87 Bounder with original Prog. Dynamics PD765 Pwr Center - 30 amp power, and 6.5kW generator 54.1 amps that I switch on remotely at the dash for 1 cabin AC. It is putting out 19.5 v on left side of fuse panel for unknown reason - I will temp hook circuits to right hand/ battery side. This 40 year old power center has built in transfer relays, therefore will be buying from you and need your best recs - PD4060 and a auto transfer switch 30 or 50 amp? I roof AC, microwave and toaster etc -total about 30 amps. Thanks

Hey Bill, since you have a 30 amp setup currently on your Bounder I would go with a 30 amp automatic transfer switch like the part # 34264403 with the Progressive Dynamics Converter/Charger part # PD4060K. Did 30 amp power work for you with the old setup?

Hey Bill, did the 30 amp automatic transfer switch and the Progressive Dynamics Converter/Charger work out for your Bounder? I'm curious to know because it could help others with similar setups.
