Is There a Coupling Adapter to Slide Over Straight and Elbow Sewage Coupling?

Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/12/2025

Question:

The drain pipe from black tank broke right next to coupler so I cant use a slide over coupling unless I cut off the broken coupler but then I think pipe would be too short to use slide over coupling. Does any company make a coupling that would go inside to connect pipes or what should I do?

Hey Charley, thanks for reaching out!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but with where your break is at, you're looking at replacing both sides of that coupling. You can try applying some heat to the elbow to see if you can remove the piece stuck in there and salvage the elbow, but that isn't a guarantee.

Start by trying to remove the piece from the elbow and then whether or not you can do that will determine if you need a new elbow and extension, or just a new extension piece.

You can use a coupling like part # D50-2935 to fit two smaller extensions together so you don't have to replace the whole straight end of things.

Hopefully this gives you a good starting point. Feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions!

Hey Charley, how did things go with removing the broken piece from the elbow on your black tank drain pipe? Were you able to use the coupling to connect the extensions without replacing the whole section? Your update could make it easier for the next person facing a similar repair.
