No Power to Trailer Wiring Harness After Popping Sound
Updated 10/22/2025 | Published 04/09/2025 >
Question:
Hi I just finished connecting the wiring harness and connector to my 2014 Honda pilot. When testing the power on the pins the tester showed power for the tail lights for a few seconds than I heard a sound and no power since than .The signals and the break lights in the 4 pin connector seem to have power.I also checked the pilot head and tail lights work fine. What could be the issue?

Hey Joe, what kind of sound did you hear? The only thing I can think of is a popping sound, which could either mean the fuse blew or there was a short circuit.
I'd suggest checking the wires for burns or damage, and I'd also check your fuses to make sure they didn't blow.
Let me know what you find down below, and we can go from there!
