Is there an Easier Way to Use the Pin on the Lippert Solid Steps or Should I Switch to MorRyde?

Question:

I currently have the Lippert Solid Step 3-step 22 3/4 wide on my 2022 Keystone Cougar 29RKS fifth wheel. I hate the Lippert pin system that has to be removed and reed at each campground based on different heights. The pin does not go in/out very easily and sometimes I spend 20 min doing this very simple task. Is there a way to alter this and keep the lippert steps or should I change to the moryde steps with the button? Thanks.

Hello Nancy,

I’m sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with the pin system. Unfortunately, you're not alone as I have heard similar complaints from others as well. Sadly, I haven’t found a good way to make the current setup easier to use.

I’d recommend switching to the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for 23-3/4" to 26-1/4" wide doorways – 3 Steps, part # MR98RR. I've attached a chart so you can double-check your measurements, but this model is the best match for your current Lippert Solid Step 3-step (22-3/4" wide).

The good news is that RVers are always on the lookout for used steps, so you could likely sell your Lippert steps and recoup some of the cost.

Any fun trips planned in the near future?

Hi Nancy, how did things go after switching to the MORryde StepAbove steps for your Cougar? It’d be great to hear if they made setup quicker at different campsites. Your feedback could really help others debating the same upgrade.

@KateF Hi, we did not buy the MORyde steps. I wanted to and may eventually but our Lippert factory ones work. It’s just a pain with the manual leveling getting the pin in the hole. Will probably eventually upgrade if we keep our rig…looking at trading in for a Super C. If we do buy these steps, we’ll be sure to buy from trailer

@NancyH Thanks for the response Nancy, and I don't blame you. I would use mine until the completely stopped working as well. Super C would be pretty sweet, I hope it all works out =)
