Hello William,

The Curt # C56012 trailer wiring harness uses standard automotive relays, specifically the common Bosch-style 5-pin relays you’ll find in many 12V applications. These are single pole, double throw (SPDT) relays, typically rated for 30 to 40 amps. Inside the harness, they’re used to safely power the trailer’s lighting circuits without putting extra load on your vehicle’s electrical system. If you ever need to replace one, you can look for a 12V SPDT relay with a 30/40 amp rating and a standard Bosch-style footprint. Some common replacements include Curt’s own # RE113, Bosch’s # 0-332-209-150, or Omron’s G8HN-1C4T-R-DC12.

Were you needing a replacement relay? I attached some images from the instructions about the relays.
