Question:

Hello, I used to own a 1988 Grand Marquis, which I recently sold and purchased a 2000 Grand Marquis LS. A friend purchased the 1988 one and then wrote it off. I took the custom trailer hitch off the 1988 and I am wondering if it will fit on the 2000? it is not old and rusty as it was purchased about 5 years ago Thank you

Both the 1998 and the 2000 Grand Marquis are of the Third Generation of that vehicle, so they can both use the same hitches. The hitch removed from your 1998 can be used on your 2000 Grand Marquis if it's in good shape, but you'll need new hardware, as the hardware is meant for a one time use only.

If your hitch is a Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch or Curt, we can provide replacement hardware. The replacement hardware kit is part # RHK, which you can see by clicking the provided link. To get the correct hardware, you'll need to know the hitch manufacturer and the part number of the hitch. This information should be on a sticker placed on the hitch. I've provided a photo showing where to enter the information on the RHK product page.
