Question:
I have 2010 Stratos Bassboat trailer with a collapsible tongue and surge brakes. I need a replacement hitch with the brake actuator. I was able to get numbers off the tongue which read TDE model LT7000. The current hitch slides into the tongue. Can you tell what replacement I need?

Hey Marc! For a replacement I recommend the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-20 (disc brakes) or # 099-175-00 (drum brakes). Unfortunately, there are no direct replacements for that old style where the actuator sits inside the tongue. You can either bolt this on top of the tongue (it has a 3" wide channel) or modify the tongue to make it fit like another customer did in the attached photo. If you need anything else feel free to reach out in the comments below.

Hey Marc, how did things go with the Dexter DX7.5 actuator on your Stratos trailer? Were you able to mount it on top of the tongue or did you end up modifying it like the other customer did? Your update could make it easier for the next person with the same setup.
