Roof Rack for Rooftop Tent on 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness

Question:
I need to add roof rails for my 2025 Subaru Wilderness. The roof top tent weighs 200lbs. Could you give me your recommendations ? Thank you Bill

Hey Bill! Are you looking for a roof rack to mount the tent on? I believe the 2025 Outback Wilderness comes with raised rails on every model. For a roof rack I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for Raised Rails # TH54ZA.
As a general rule, any roof rack that has a capacity of at least 165 lbs and mounts on rails or fixed mounting points will be able to hold a rooftop tent. The static capacity is much higher but not something manufacturers list in their specs. This means the rack will be able to handle the weight of your tent plus occupants. The Thule WingBars are also going to be incredibly quiet when you don't have your tent installed so you won't have to deal with excessive noise.
