Recommended Replacement Bearings for a Triple 7k Axle Trailer

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/25/2025

Question:

I have triple 7000 lb axles on my trailer. I am looking to try to upgrade the outer bearings so they are more reliable. Realizing the inside measurement of the 02475 is the same as the 14125A it would seem to fit the axle but would not fit the hub as the outer bearing measurement and race are larger and wider. What if I changed the hubs to 8000 lb hubs...would that work? Thanks, Frank

Hey Frank, it sounds like you trying to use the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing # 02475 with your 7k axles? If that's the case, then that would explain why they don't fit in your hubs - because they're for larger 8k axles. You'd need to use the Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing # 14125A which does have the same inner diameter, but is for smaller axles.

You also can't just swap the hubs out either with the larger 8k hubs without swapping the entire axle out. So, I'd recommend sticking with the bearings # 14125A mentioned above, which will fit your current hubs.

If there is something else I can do for you, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

Hey Frank, how did things go after you stuck with the 14125A bearings for your 7k axles? Your update could make it easier for others trying to match bearings and hubs on similar trailers.
