Will ClearVU Backup Camera Cleaner System Have Enough Pressure on 2024 Honda Ridgeline

Question:

Hi, Re: CV-64-FR I have a 24 Honda Ridgeline w/ rear camera. Thinking about purchasing the above camera cleaner. Will the OEM windshield pump produce enough pressure with the added hose to adequately clean the camera? The trucks tailgate is dual function- up and down also is hinged on the drivers side to open sideways. As such, it appears the hose would have to be run to the hinge side from the underside. Will this be a problem? Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill! Pressure won't be a problem with the ClearVU Backup Camera Cleaner System # CV64FR. This will easily be able to clean your rear camera. Also, it comes with 25' of tubing so routing it the way you described won't be an issue as long as the tube isn't getting pinched in the tailgate. If you need anything else feel free to reach out in the comments below.

Robin, The other concern I have is when the tailgate is down (horizontal) won't wiper fluid be inclined to drain from the nozzle? The check valve direction is towards the nozzle and, as such, won't prevent draining. If I am right, is there a way to counter this? Your response is much appreciated. Bill Splain

@William I didn't forget about you, sorry for the delay. I reached out to CearVU since this is pretty new for us and I wasn't sure. They just got back to me and said the specific check valve present in the kit has a pressure rating that will prevent it from leaking out when the tailgate is down.

@RobinH Thanks Robin. I just ordered. Looks like the check valve we discussed has enough resistance, even in the flow direction, to stop any standing non pressurized flow. I have a new Acura MDX with an OEM cleaner that is more than great. The aftermarket concept is a potential winner. Again, thanks, Bill Splain
