Will Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire Last Longer Than Tire With Lower Ply Rating

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/19/2025

Question:

I would like to try these on my 6 seater Bintelli golf cart which is driven mostly on sidewalks to get our kids to school and back. We have been buying 4 ply tires 225/55 B12 and they need to be replaced in the front at least every 4-6 months. Would these tires be expected to last longer or are the sidewalks going to cause the them to wear faster no matter what ply?

Hey Bryan! Yes, I would expect the Kenda 225/55B12 Bias Golf Cart Tire # AM1HP60 to last longer since it has a higher ply rating. The ply rating of 10 is significantly higher compared to what you have now so there will be a noticeable difference. In general, a tire with a higher ply rating will last longer overall, including the tread, because of the increased durability and higher capacity. If you need anything else don't hesitate to reach out in the comments below.

Hey Bryan, how are the Kenda 225/55B12 tires holding up on your Bintelli golf cart? It’d be great to hear if the higher ply rating made a difference in how long the tread is lasting. Your update could make it easier for others using their carts on sidewalks.
