Will Third Brake Light Camera Kit Allow for Visibility Past Bike on Carrier

Question:

Custom Third Brake Light Camera System w/ Rear View Mirror - Night Vision - 4.3 Screen. My truck is a 2024 ram 1500 lift. On the back I have a scooter lift and my problem is the truck back up camera mostly shows the carrier and the scooter. I was wondering if the above third brake light camera would work good for me to view the road behind me over the top of the scooter or would it view down into the bed of the truck? Thank you.

Hey Jimmie, while the Custom Third Brake Light Camera System w/ Rear View Mirror # GCH74FR was mostly intended to be used to help with connecting to a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer it does allow you to see over the tailgate as well and see what is behind the truck. Will it be as awesome of a view as you'd like? That I am not sure but it would be able to see what's behind the bike and carrier for sure.

Hey Jimmie, how did the view from the third brake light camera work out with your scooter lift on the back of the Ram? It’d be great to know if it gave you a clear look at the road behind the carrier. Your update could make it easier for others with similar setups.

@JamesonC because of connections not wanting to cut any wires or be required to use a separate monitor or pay the cost of the light I didn’t try the 3rd brake light camera. Another reason is I ended up putting a camper shell on the truck replacing the hard cover.I thank you for your response.
