Troubleshooting LED Trailer Taillight Error Code on 2021 Ford F-150

Question:
I have a utility trailer that i was having problems with the led tailights. 2021 F 150 with a trailer light and brake wiring fault on the dash. If i unplugged the taillights the fault codes goes away. Put standard tailights on it and the codes went away. Why did the leds trigger the fault code?

Hey Rick, the problem is that the trailer taillights are somewhat connected to your truck's taillights and since LED taillights draw a fraction of the amperage as an incandescent it will make the truck think it has a bulb out. So what you can do in these situations is use the 7-way adapter part # 20142 and the error issues would go away.
