Question:
I am converting my 1985 Easyloader boat trailer from Drum brakes to Disc brakes. The trailer is a tandem axle with leaf springs. I am just putting Disc on the rear axle , the front axle I plan to remove moving parts and leave the drums in place. My question is......The brake line kit for disc brakes on a single axle trailer says it is for a torsion style suspension. Will that kit also work on a leaf spring trailer? Or is there a different kit available? Also, how do I know if the brakes lines provided in the kit are long enough for my trailer?

Expert Reply:
You are correct to place your disc brakes on the rear axle of your boat trailer since this is where most of the weight will be carried (nearer to the boat's motor).
Disc brake and torsion axle applications both require flexible brake lines so yes you can use the kit you referenced, part # DM5424. This kit includes 18-7/8-inch long flexible lines, but if your measurement shows you need longer flex lines we offer various sizes of lines; part # T0777300 is 13-inches; part # T0776500 is 18-25/32-inches long; part # T0980100 is 25-inches long.
