Question:

I have a 2024 F150 SuperCrew Short bed 5.7.A local shop just installed a BAKFlip MX4. Love it, but am having trouble matching it with a rack system. Most require the rack system to mount to the interior rail of the bed, and my assumption would be that this would affect the MX4.Looking for something with simple crossbars, telescoping or not, but that keeps the integrity of the MX4 intact. Is there a rail system that can be bolted to the rails, or one that possibly works with the MX4 with minor adjustments?Any insight into this matter would be appreciated! Dan V.

Hey Daniel, the best option for a rack that can fit your 2024 Ford F-150 5-1/2 ft bed with the BakFlip MX4 would be the Thule TracRac SR sliding ladder rack part # TH43002XT-508 which attaches to the truck via the stake pockets that are on top of the bed rails. There isn't a lower profile option that also does this but this rack does have ability to have the uprights slid forward and back as well as all the way off the rack if you wanted to take them off at times.

Thanks Jameson. Are there any other options for a rack that would work with the BAKFlip MX4? I was hoping to stick under 1k. Any options other than the TracRac, or outside the box thinking. :-) Thanks! Dan V.

@DanV You could go with the Adarac Pro Series Ladder Rack part # A86RR. This definitely fits the budget you mentioned and also installs through top of the stack pockets. The uprights are fixed though and can't slide forward and back.

@DanV That's an interesting idea but unfortunately it won't work since it has to wrap around the bed rails like the tonneau cover so the two would interfere with each other.
