Question:

What length bars and which kind of bars should I get to mount two hullavators on a 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness?

Hey Carol, I can definitely help with that! You will need to go with an extra long crossbar to accommodate two of the Thule Hullavators # TH898 on your 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness, but it can be done. The best roof rack for this will be a Yakima JetStream rack since the design of their crossbars allows longer bars to work. Each Hullavator requires 28-1/2" of bar space so a 60" crossbar will do great. Here are the parts you need:

- TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Qty 4 # Y33TR

- Yakima CoreBar Crossbars - Steel - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2 # Y00422

Comment below and let me know if you need anything else.

Hey Jesse, Thanks for the quick reply! I looked at the weight load for the Yakima Care bars and it says 165 pounds. Two hullavator as are 40 pounds each, and I’ll have two 18’ kayaks at about 55-60 pounds each, which is a total dynamic load of 200 pounds. Is there another brand that has a higher dynamic load but the same length? (I have a set of Thule evo aero bars but they’re only 50” and that slot in the bottom won’t allow a longer set.) Really appreciate your help.

@Carol Ah yes so there is one option with a higher capacity, the Yakima CoreBar Crossbars. They have a 220 lb dynamic capacity so that will be better suited for you. The CoreBars also have a provision for using the longer 60" bars. Here are the parts: - TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Qty 4 # Y33TR - Yakima CoreBar Crossbars - Steel - Black - 60" Long - Qty 2 # Y00422 It is worth noting the CoreBar crossbars do not have a top channel, so you will need to use the clamp-on hardware that comes with the Hullavator.

@JesseM, Thanks!!! Exactly what I need. I still have the clamp on attachments from my existing hullavator, so thanks!! Really appreciate this.
