Recommended Replacement For Gas Strut 8AU203468BB0267

Updated 12/16/2024 | Published 12/14/2024

Question:

Hello Do you carry the industrial gas spring 60lb door spring arm? The one I have has metal rivoted plates at either end that attach by screwing the plate in the both the RV and undercarriage door. When the door is open the spring holds it in place. Part number gs:8AU203468BB0267

Hi Susan,

That part number comes up as a 60lb gas strut with a 20" extended length and 10mm socket so the Taylor Made Marine Gas Strut for Boat Hatches # 3691843-60 would be a fit. To remove your current strut you'll need to stick a small flathead screwdriver under the small metal retaining clip on the socket head and pry up on it. Prying it up will allow you to pop the socket off of the mounting brackets. When you put the new ones on you can just press them into place without prying on the clip.

Hi Kevin, Thanks while this oart may work do you also sell new metal Brackett’s that attach to the door for the ball/ socket to fit in to? I think mine was made by Industrial Gas Springs and not Taylor. I’m worried the ends won’t have anywhere to connect to because they’ve busted off

@SusanD We offer eight different mounting brackets from Taylor Made that would come with a 10mm ball and be compatible with the gas strut I recommended above: Angled: 2" Wide - Black # 3691860 2" Wide - SS # 3691859 2" Wide - SS # 3691883 2" Wide - Zinc # 3691881 Flat: 2-1/4" Wide - Zinc # 3691880 2-1/4" Wide - SS # 3691858 2-1/4" Wide - Black # 3691857 You'll need to check how your current brackets are shaped to pick out the correct replacement. If you don't see a match send me some pictures of your bracket and I can look for a replacement.
