Can the Pin On a Tekonsha Breakaway Switch Be Removed To Replace Steel Wire

Question:
The wire on my 2010 Breakaway switch is rusty and I have purchased some new wire and a couple of swages. Can the breakaway pin be pulled out to do the swages and then replaced or must it stay in one piece

Yes, the pin can be pulled off and you can then replace the wire. Make sure that everything is disconnected so you do not accidentally set the breakaway kit off.
