Removing Piezo Alarm From Tekonsha P3 On 2013 Toyota Tundra
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/10/2024 >
Question:
Kekonsha P3 brake controller. 2013 Tundra. The controller appears to function normally when towing my trailer. However, someone appears to have installed a piezo buzzer into the circuit: When the trailer is not connected to the truck, the buzzer alarms continuously whenever I am in reverse and beeps once whenever I put it into drive. The screen continuously flashes no trailer connection. I have disconnected the piezo alarm but am not sure if I should otherwise have concerns about the controller. The harnesses look good and again the controller functions normally with the trailer connected.

Hi Christopher; removing that alarm would restore everything to the way it would have been from your standard installation. As long as the wires are properly/well connected you can expect the # 90195 to continue to function properly.

Hey Christopher, sounds like things are back to normal with your P3 brake controller after removing that buzzer. Has it continued to work smoothly with your trailer since then? Your update could make it easier for the next person who finds a similar setup.
