Hello! Was wondering if you could tell me what the real differences are between the Napier Backroadz and Napier Sportz truck bed tents for 6-1/2 foot beds? Thanks!

Hey Gracie,

That's a good question and there are a couple of differences between the Napier Backroadz Truck Bed Tent # NA94FR and Sportz Truck Bed Tent # NA47FR.

The first, of course, is the awning that comes with the Sportz but not the Backroadz. So this would be good if you're a more regular camper that wants to spend some time kicking back and relaxing near your truck but also want some shade to help keep cool.

That's the most practical difference, but there's also a couple others that will be more dependent on the individual. One is that the Sportz has an access panel which allows you to get to your cab through is back window, which can be convenient if you're storing something in the cab for extra room in the bed. Another is the Sportz has a slightly higher center at 5-3/4" compared to 5'2" for the Backroadz.

So really, I would say if you're going to use the tent regularly, the better option is the Sportz # NA47FR, but for just occasional use the Backroadz # NA94FR suit you well.

Whichever you go with, I do want to mention that you can up the comfort level with an air mattress if you don't have one, the 2-person Napier Sportz Air Mattress w/ Pump # NA29FR.
