Recommended Suspension Enhacnement for a 2024 Itasca 3 to Reduce Sway

Updated 10/18/2024 | Published 10/10/2024

Question:

I have 2024 Isata 3 class C. Its mounted on 2022 Sprinter 3500 chassis. Im having issues with cross winds pushes to side and headwinds gets under front and seems to lift. Also, tends to dip - lean into the turn and feels lose on turns. Friend who also has same chassis recommended Sumoshocks. What would be your recommendations? Thank you.

David, a set of SumoSprings is an excellent idea. I recommend going with the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SS69PV.

These springs will work with both the 4WD and 2WD models, will reinforce your OEM suspension to reduce swag, but also act like a sway bar to prevent your rig from swaying side to side, and has an easy bolt on install requiring no maintenance.

Bryce: Thanks for your response. I have 4 follow-up questions: 1. Why did you make the above recommendation vs. the SumoShocks? What is the advantages of your recommendation? 2. If I do decide to go with the SumoShocks, website is giving 2 product recommendations for the rear (dually) - SS23ER or SS55ER. Which do you recommend and why? 3. If I do decide to go with the SumoShocks, should I also install the front SumoShocks, SSD-106-47? 4. The service rep at my local Mercedes Benz dealer also recommended the Fox Shocks as a more expensive yet better than SumoShocks for my Sprinter 3500. I don't see Fox Shocks on your website. What do you have that is equivalent. Thanks for the help, David

@DavidT I like the SuperSprings because they are a mechanical solution that compliments the existing suspension system by directing the heavy loads through the factory spring pack into the points on the frame designed to receive heavy loads. The Supersprings will also allow for greater wheel travel on the rear suspension. As far as which set to go with, those part numbers didn't come back to anything so I'm not quite sure which would work better. Installing a front set of SumoSprings with the SuperSprings is also a good idea and will only help your ride further. For FOX shocks, we actually don't carry that brand nor that style of shock, so we unfortunately wouldn't be able to help you with that.
