How to Determine What Jack Lift Is Needed for a 2021 Karavan Trailer

Published 10/08/2024

Question:

Hi, I have a 2021 Bayliner DX2250 that’s on a 2021 Karavan tandem axle trailer. Everything together weighs approximately 5800 lbs and the tongue weight was 560 lbs. my trailer tongue jack broke and looking to replace. How do I know if I need a 10” or 12” lift? Thanks

Mike, in order to determine what lift height, you need for your 2021 Karavan Trailer you can either measure the jack you currently have or measure the height from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.

You will need to extend the jack about 4" above this measurement so you can raise it over the ball to connect/disconnect your trailer.

Once you get this measurement, you'll then be able to figure out what lift you need for your jack.

Thanks for the reply Bryce. I dint have access to the trailer at this time. And since the jack broke, I can’t crank it up level to get the measure meant. I did get a drawing from Karavan, is there a way I can send that over?
