Question:
The 1/2” bolts are too large to fit in the pre-drilled holes for a hitch on my 2010 equinox, what size could they be?

Hey Robert, so this is a pretty common problem unfortunately and the solution is to get a thread tap and clean out the weld nuts as they are currently corroded and dirty to the point it won't let the bolts thread and it seems like the bolts are too big. Your 2010 Equinox has seen quite a few winters is the issue which is what typically creates the problem.

Hey Robert, how did things go after you cleaned out the weld nuts on your Equinox’s hitch? Did the bolts thread in smoothly once the corrosion was cleared? Your update could make it easier for others running into the same issue.
